OK - please try evening primrose oil capsules. You won't look back. Get them from your health food store - use a good brand such as Blackmores. Take a couple at night (they can make you sleepy). These are jam packed full of vitamin E and will also improve your skin allover, as well as your hair, nails and temperament - seriously, they improve your mood as well. To work from the outside as well you can pierce a capsule and rub the oil into your scars a couple of times a day. Stay out of the sun when you have the oil on your body. I have the same problem as you. I have scars over my legs and arms. I've gone to doctors and done ointments as well. Nothing has worked for me. Unfortunately, it's permanent. Here's a good thing about scars: show them off! Ladies dig a brave man with scars! ;)

How can I remove the scars?
I've been getting spots on my face since the age of about 9, and they've now been bothering me ever since.
However, when I was younger I didn't understand the effects squeezing would have on my face in the future.
Now I have all these 'pot-holes' on my face.
I was wondering if anyone knew how I could get rid of these scars.

Does Mederma work for Hypertrophic Scars?
Well, does it? I've gotten hypertrophic scars on the back of my arms due to having acne. My doctor says that they'll go away over time, but I heard about Mederma and was thinking if that would work.

Not true! - worked for me. I had stitches on my forehead and was very good about putting vitamin E on it. I broke the capsules and squeeze it on my scar from day 1. It's the best. I haven't heard anything bad about vitamin E, I've used it myself, and it sure didn't do any damage. My sister likes to use coconut oil, it made a difference for her. That's what I'm trying next.

I maintain good personal hygiene. But I am troubled by this infection which causes so much irritation. I apply quadriderm ointment and take cetrizine tablets often. If you neglect to give it proper care you will have infections, and such, and the scar will most likely be more noticeable than if it were healthy. Also, it depends on when you take the jewelry out. If you wait for the healing process to be over, it won't really ';heal'; back together like it would if you took it out a few days after it was pierced. When a piercing heals it creates a small healed tunnel of flesh inside of the hole. If it doesn't get a chance to create that, you have a better chance of the ';tunnel walls'; healing up together. Honestly, some people have noticeable scars, some you don't even know they were even pierced. But I will say that I have had mine pierced twice. One I currently have, and one I took out. There is no trace of the one I took out. But of all the 20 piercings I have, I don't have one scar any more noticeable than a chicken pox scar.Do nose piercings leave noticeable scars?

the dermatologist have this treatment called microdermabrasion/diamond peel and it's painless and takes an hour or even less to finish the procedure..you need to have 10 sessions to see best results but then again, it's kinda expensive per treatment session. but if you have the money to burn, why not? ;)

The only 1 i know so far is the Aveeno spot treatment. It comes in a long tube thats green. U can put it on day or night. It might take a minute 2 go away, but they do fade.

Please could someone tell me the best make-up to cover up black scars on dark skin.. when i used to have spots i used to foolishly pick my spots, and it left black scars all around my face..i recently brought mac's studio fix foundation - but it doesn't effectively cover up the scars as my scars are darker then my skin tone..

They have many different shades (21), pick the one that's right. Apply the makeup by dabbing it on with your middle finger (it takes a little practice to get it right, so play around with it a little) blend with dabs also, don't rub it, you'll get lines. After you get it right, use the setting powder to ';set'; the make-up, it stays put all day! The cover creme is available online at the website below and at Ulta stores. They also have other products, if you go into the Ulta stores they'll be happy to help you find one that's right!

You will have to do this for up to a month but you will definitely see a difference. These cost very little 2-6 dollars depending on on the quantity they have but well worth it. Good Luck!!!

You cannot get rid of any type of scars. They are permanent. Eventually, if they are not severe, they may fade, almost completely, but that simply takes time.
Some people seem to trust cocoa butter/lotion/etc. or vitamin E oil/lotion/etc. to help fade scars and stretchmarks, so you can try that. It only works for regular scars, though. If you happen to have ';icepick'; scars (the deep, usually round-ish, 'hole-y' scars), there really isn't anything at all you can do.
The best advice I can give you is to experiment with some natural remedies (such as the cocoa butter) to help make them less obvious. Getting a tan of some sort may help make them less noticeable, but be careful, because it could just as easily make them stand out! If all else fails, some quality makeup may help you (try a concealer stick and some light coloured foundation--always go for lighter makeup compared to your skin colour if you are in doubt, as it helps to cover better).

I forgot to mention chemical peels and such... Look it up and see if it may work for you.

Currently, laser therapy has assumed a more important role in the treatment of acne scars, and other newer surgical methods featuring light and radio waves are an option to treat your acne.

I had a bicycle wreck (Into a wooden fence) and I got really nasty scars on my legs and knees. I used scar zone and it seemed to work, but you have to rub it on your scar for a long time so it would probably take a long time since your scar is so big.
Keep your scar covered with sunscreen on sunny days and when you go swimming. It's very sensitive and I have heard of people getting pre cancerous skin cells on their scar, just because they forgot to wear sunscreen.
Look at some different vitamin oils and scar ointments, if you really are concerned about your scar talk to your doctor or a dermatologist.

I had a bicycle wreck (Into a wooden fence) and I got really nasty scars on my legs and knees. I used scar zone and it seemed to work, but you have to rub it on your scar for a long time so it would probably take a long time since your scar is so big.
Keep your scar covered with sunscreen on sunny days and when you go swimming. It's very sensitive and I have heard of people getting pre cancerous skin cells on their scar, just because they forgot to wear sunscreen.
Look at some different vitamin oils and scar ointments, if you really are concerned about your scar talk to your doctor or a dermatologist.

there is an oil u can buy now called bio oil that can help, u get it from chemists, i dont know how much it is. if thats expensive u can try vitamin E capsules just stick a pin in them and squeeze the liquid onto the scars and rub it in three to four times a times a day, which is probably a cheaper alternative. i hope it helps u out rise, and if anyone else gives you a therapy lesson rise, tell them to go punch it! we all make mistakes luv none of us r perfect! r we?

I used to be a cutter and I got help. I can tell you it feels much better not to cut. I am 25 now and still have scars. If I hadn't stopped when I did I would be one big scar.

I got inpatient treatment at a youth facility. I was there 2 weeks the first time and 2 weeks the second time. I did cut a few times after my second release, but I somehow grew out of it when my life improved.
Outpatient counseling rarely works. I wish you the best of luck and I want you to know that there are better ways of venting your pain and frustration.
Use scarzone scar cream on the healed ones and make sure you thoroughly cleanse the wounds. Put some antibiotic ointment on the clean wounds and cover them up.

Mederma is a product that is supposed to help vanish scars, but I think you have to apply it three times a day, for six months to a year. It hardly seems worth it.

Avoid the very cheap ones because they have alot of chemicals (than usual) but get a average one.
The BEST foundation is the one that is one or two shades darker than your natural colour.
before u apply foundation, cream your face with a little moisturiser because it helps even out the foundation that u will apply on top.Looking for a foundation/concealer/whatever that provides great coverage against acne+a few acne scars?
I know you didn't say any bare minerals, but they make a product for blemishes in powder form that's friggin genius.
if you want a good concealer, you'd probably want to stick with anything that neutrogena makes, they have a clear skin line that contains salicylic acid, which sucks the oil right out of your skin while concealing blemishes at the same time.
always put your concealer on first and then I would follow with a loose powder foundation. pressed powder has wax and oil in it as a binding agent (to keep it's shape in the compact) all of which are really bad for your skin.
apply concealer by dabbing it on with your ring finger. blend the edges out gently with your finger or a natural hair brush, and follow by doing a full sweep with a bigger brush.
i know ur against it but,

Just wash your face regularly, use an astringent/toner like Stridex or whatever, and apply benzoyl peroxide to the actual zits (Oxy 10 is good...). For places where you already have scars, you can try breaking open a Vitamin E capsule and rubbing the oil JUST on the scar, or a brand-name scar minimizing product like Mederma (smells better than the Vitamin E but works about the same...). And also, stay out of the sun. The UV rays can sort of ';set'; the scars in, making them darker than they would be otherwise.

What ive heard to do is apply acv(apple cider vinegar, u can buy it at ur grocery store for under 2 bucks) and mix it half and half with warm water. Then dab the diluted acv with a cotton ball and apply it on your scar. Also i have heard that drinking it is great too but it might taste a bit sour :P . Also another great thing to do is go make an appointment with your dermatologist and get her/him to prescribe u a tropical gel called ';retin a micro';. As ive heard and read, u need to apply just a lil' dab on the scar for about twice a day, preferably morning and night. However the downfall to using retin-a micro is that it will peel your skin - but thats how it works. Using retin-a micro will make ur scars get better before it gets worst. tho retin a micro wont work over night, i am more then certain u will achieve decent results from using it atleast about 2-3 weeks. It takes a bit of time, but im positive that if you use this tropical and dab some acv dilutd with water, those maarks will fade in time. gd luck :)

You'll want to use pressure like you're 'ironing' which is pretty firm pressure.
This massage technique increases circulation and improves production of the new cells around the scar area. (they have died there) That improves the scar.
You'll need to do this regularly, a few times a day, to see results. I had a scar on my leg that I used the technique on and its completely gone now.
