What are these little cigarette size scars?

I see on foreign people small round scars from some type of shots they get in their country. What are these shots? Why dont american people have them? What are these little cigarette size scars?
are they usually on their upper arm? if so then it's probably immunizations you have to get before you go into a different passport. my dad was in the air force and spent alot of time in korea and he has the same markings. what they do is have one big gun type thing that gives you all the shots at once so it will speed up things and it's easier to do than one at a time. What are these little cigarette size scars?
My sister has one on her upper arm. I beleive it is either a TB or polio vaccine. They stopped doing those vaccines b-4 I was born (27 yrs old). And both of us were born in the US.
YEARS AGO (30s 40s, 50s)YOU RECEIVED WHAT THEY CALLED A VACCINATION AND IT WAS COVERED WITH A LITTLE PLASTIC CUP HELD ON TO YOUR UPPER ARM WITH TAPE SOME LEFT A SCAR THE SIZE OF A NICKLE, AND SOME DID NOT LEAVE A SCAR. AND YOU COULD NOT GO TO SCHOOL UNLESS YOU WERE VACCINATED.SO YOU GOT IT WHEN YOU WERE 4 OR 5 .
People who were born before 1977 were give two of them and one of them was for Small pox. The second one is for all the rest of the shot that you get as a kid -- DPT, etc. BCG vaccine leaves a very tiny scar almost like a pimple.

The reason why the scar forms is because the injection was given with a device which has serrations on the edges. The shots of today are much simpler. In those times there was no record of vaccination other than the mark on your arm. Now we have vaccination records.

The fact that the mark was left -- didnt make it any more unsafe. It was safe.

I wanna say its polio. My Mom (American) has one. Whatever it is, I believe its a disease that has been eradicated in developed countries, or the shot is safer now and no longer causes scarring.
good question.... I know what your talking about but it slipped my mind sorry
There more than likely small pox you have to have one before you move here. Most americans don't because it hasn't been a problem for 50 years
There are certain countries where you need to have different immunizations before you can go there. Because of things like westnile and other foreigh desieses. Those marking probably end up staying there on the body becuase it's a strong vaccine.
