In Romeo and Juliet, to whom does Romeo refer to when he says ';He jests at scars that never felt a wound';?

Was he referring to himself or someone else?

Also, what does this mean? I know that jests means to laugh or joke, but what does the part ';at scars that never felt a wound mean?In Romeo and Juliet, to whom does Romeo refer to when he says ';He jests at scars that never felt a wound';?
This is when Mercutio is taunting him by saying all these things about Rosaline, who he used to love. Its when Mercutio and Benvolio cant find Romeo after the Capulet party.

He is referring to Mercutio, because he makes fun of Romeo. Romeo was hurt when Rosaline wouldnt love him back, and since Mercutio has never been in love, he makes fun of Romeo without knowing what his hurt heart feels like.

Mercutio makes fun of Romeos heart scars, while he has never felt heart wounds. In Romeo and Juliet, to whom does Romeo refer to when he says ';He jests at scars that never felt a wound';?
i don't know who romeo is thinking out when he says that line...but

';He jests at scars that never felt a wound'; means that he laughs, jokes, feels scars (or pain) from something that has never actaully broke the skin and cut him.

so he could mean emotional scars or pain.

sorry its sorta hard to explain. i hope i helped.
