Im a cutter how do i get rid of the scars or make them heal faster?

hi rise,

there is an oil u can buy now called bio oil that can help, u get it from chemists, i dont know how much it is. if thats expensive u can try vitamin E capsules just stick a pin in them and squeeze the liquid onto the scars and rub it in three to four times a times a day, which is probably a cheaper alternative. i hope it helps u out rise, and if anyone else gives you a therapy lesson rise, tell them to go punch it! we all make mistakes luv none of us r perfect! r we?

hope it works for u rise?

First of all I agree… people who have never been there don’t understand. Cutting isn’t necessarily just an “immature ploy for attention” as a lot of people think. I’ve never been a cutter myself, but a member of my family, and the person I’m closest to in the world, used to be, and still slips into the habits when her issues kick up again. In her case, it was part of Bipolar Disorder, Manic-Depression, and Borderline Personality Disorder.

People – telling a person to “stop cutting” is all well and good, but things are not that simple. If the original poster *wants* to stop, that's the only time that they will.

So I’m not going to preach. I’m not going to applaud you for it, but I’m not going tell you off either. A couple people have already said my suggestion – Vitamin E Oil. It’s super-hydrating, all-natural, and helps your body with cellular regeneration, which should fade scars over time.

I’d be careful – cutter mentioned above that I'm close to made a few very deep cuts this past winter, and they aren’t healing properly. She’s wound up with problems with the new scars. Basically what’s happened, is the reforming scar tissue underneath is having a kind of allergic reaction to itself and she’s having to have steroid shots right into the scars to try and quell the reaction and itching and burning pain.Im a cutter how do i get rid of the scars or make them heal faster?
I used to be a cutter and I got help. I can tell you it feels much better not to cut. I am 25 now and still have scars. If I hadn't stopped when I did I would be one big scar.

People who say ';just stop it'; don't understand.

I got inpatient treatment at a youth facility. I was there 2 weeks the first time and 2 weeks the second time. I did cut a few times after my second release, but I somehow grew out of it when my life improved.

Outpatient counseling rarely works. I wish you the best of luck and I want you to know that there are better ways of venting your pain and frustration.

Use scarzone scar cream on the healed ones and make sure you thoroughly cleanse the wounds. Put some antibiotic ointment on the clean wounds and cover them up.

E-mail me if you need someone to talk to :)
don't worry i cut myself too, well not anymore for about atleast 3 months. I'm also embarrased of them because it's so visible and people are like ';What happened to your arm?';. God, I hate that question. But I visit my therapist and psyhcologist. I also HATE it when people ask me if I am emo.

It pisses me off. don't you hate that???
I have tons of scars myself from cutting, there's really nothing you can do about it mine are very deep and I tried using cocoa butter, mederma and stuff like that...if there not that deep trying using cocoa butter or some scar solution.
You did it to yourself. Face the consequences. Maybe you should have thought about that before you sliced yourself. Atleast you can show others your past pain and suffering now so you can be uber scene.
you stop cutting.. i always wondered the same thing when i cut... and i was embarrassed of my scars... when i got over cutting i got a tattoo over my scars so i couldnt cut anymore and so i couldnt see them either
Mederma is a product that is supposed to help vanish scars, but I think you have to apply it three times a day, for six months to a year. It hardly seems worth it.

i think if u spread vitamin E on it, (have to get the liquid vitamin E). also there is some stuff that is acually designed by doctors to get rid of scars. (you just have to look it up) good luck
Vitamin E oil. Get a capsul and cut it open and rub it on your scar. Oh, and stop cutting yourself! Talk to a counselor or friend or someone you can trust.
To be quite honest mate,

the best advice I can give you is to quit cutting.

That's the only thing that is going to help you at ALL.
Estrogen and DHEA!
Try to stop cutting but maybe long sleeved shirts and jumpers could cover them also try foundation and smaller cuts?
